New Works

Left: What a fun commission - to paint a vintage Chris Craft boat for a Lake Minnetonka family with a likeness of the 4 kids in the boat. It is a surprise painting for over the fireplace mantel. Once again, a wonderful keepsake -
Center: I had fun painting this mural for the Excelsior Commons - does that swim suit make my face look fat?
Right: A recent commission was a watercolor map of Lake Minnetonka with 26 small icons paintings representing important or memorable spots for the family..It certainly is a meaningful one of a kind keepsake! And fun for me to do —

I tried my hand at outdoor sculpture and mosaic and - Poof! 'Tallulah, Goddess of Garden and Grout' was born! She stands about 5 ft. tall, her mosaic is from porcelain tiles and epoxy grout - she should be weatherproof! I learned so much in the process - my next outdoor sculpture will go smoothly because of all I learned from Tallulah -

Left: I was honored to be among the 3 finalists for the artist selected to do the art at the new Excelsior Library. As part of the presentation I did some small renderings of Excelsior and surrounding area, both current day and historical scenes. I had fun delving into the history of this area - the quirkiness of Excelsior goes way back.

Right: Opening reception of the Ames Center Gallery show in August 2015.

Commissions are welcome - paintings, murals, painted upholstery or jewelry.

These are a few recent commissions - from painted trophy fish, favorite golf courses to funky cabinets..

Art Grant

I was recently awarded an Art Grant to produce three paintings for the City of Maple Plain depicting rural, residential and commercial scenes. It was a very fun project; the three paintings will be framed and displayed in the commercial areas and will be made into banners along the boulevard.

Sculpting has always appealed to me, so I tried it - with the help of my brother an, experienced sculptor.
"Chubbs" - one of my favorite horses passed away a few years ago and I've wanted to create a memorial for him. He was an Arabian gelding with attitude - my best buddy, but in all of his 22 years every time I got on him, he would buck not a neck snapping kind of buck, just a little rough play.
When I saw the finished bronze it brought tears to my eyes because of the likeness to Chubbs - I think it captures his snotty and bold attitude.
